John Ralph “J. R.” TIMMINS, of Cameron, WV died Saturday, January 3, 2009 in Reynolds Memorial
Hospital.

He was born August 17, 1955 in Wheeling, WV the son of the late John Ralph Timmins, Sr. and Patricia Jean
Myers Timmins.  

He was a former employee of Coronet Foods of Wheeling WV and he belonged to the ABATE Association of West
Virginia.

He is survived by a son John Ralph (Jenny) Timmins of Glen Easton WV; Two Daughters, Brandy Dotson and her
fiancée Bill Anderson of Glen Easton, WV and Heather Timmins and her fiancée Mark Cain of Sand Hill, WV; a
brother Arthur Lee Timmins of Cameron, WV; Three sisters Elizabeth and her friend David Bedway of Wheeling,
WV, Patricia Timmins of Cameron, WV, and Rebecca Timmins and her friend Michael Claypool of Buckhannon,
WV; Five grandchildren, Taylor Timmins, Gracie Timmins, Katie Timmins, Adein Dotson and Paige Timmins all of
Cameron, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2009 from 2 – 4 PM and from 6 – 8 PM at Care Funeral and
Cremation Services, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville WV.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the CARE Chapel with Pastor Paul Smith
officiating.

Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Cameron, WV.

Lafayette Ave., Moundsville, WV 26041.
Paige Madison Alvendia, infant daughter of Eduardo “Eddie” Alvendia and Cassidy Arruda of
Moundsville, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at Wheeling Medical Park Hospital.

In addition to her parents, Paige is survived by a brother J.T. Scandinaro of Moundsville; a sister Brooke
Scandinaro of Moundsville; her maternal grandmother Karen Stewart of Bridgeport, OH; her maternal grandfather,
Rick Arruda of Moundsville; her paternal grandparents Rayma and Eduardo Alvendia of Moundsville; and several
aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held at CARE Funeral & Cremation Service, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville, WV on Thursday,
January 15, 2009 beginning at 10:00 AM and lasting until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM.  Pastor Paul
Smith will be Officiating.

Interment will be at Valley Brooke Cemetery, Moundsville WV.
Melvin “Toby” Longwell, 68, of Lorain, OH, formerly of Marshall, Co., WV, passed away Tuesday,
January 13, 2009 at the New Life Hospice of Saint Joseph in Lorain.

He was born September 13, 1940 in Littleton, WV, the son of the late Harry Longwell and Keturah Carpenter.  He
was Christian by faith.

In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by a brother Clifford Longwell.

He is survived by his friend and companion Zella Comstock of Lorain, OH; 2 daughters, Nancy Longwell of
Moundsville, WV and Cathy (Bob) Brown of Brookside, OH; 2 Sons, Rusty (Vicki) Longwell of Portland, OR and
Bobby Longwell of KY; 4 sisters, Goldie Oliver of Moundsville, WV, Edith Holman of McMechen, WV, Waveline
(Donald) Carpenter of Moundsville, WV and Mary Frances Keller of Elyrea, OH; 1 Brother, Kenneth Longwell of
Moundsville, WV; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2009 from 6 – 8 PM at CARE Funeral & Cremation Service, 1500 Second
Street, Moundsville, WV.  Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the CARE
Chapel.  Pastor Paul Smith will be officiating.

Interment will be at Limestone Cemetery, Moundsville, WV.

Danny Wayne Crow, 54, of Limestone, Moundsville, WV passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at
his residence.

He was born June 22, 1954 in Glen Dale, WV.  He is the son of the late Kenneth Lee Crow .

He was a self employed contractor, was of the Christian faith and enjoyed spending time with his dog, Missy.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David Lee Crow; maternal grandparents Kenneth and Leona Loy; and
paternal grandparents Clarence and Essie Crow.

Danny is survived by his mother, Phyllis Jean Loy Crow Hewitt and step-father Clarence O. Hewitt of Moundsville;
brother, Robert Dale Crow of Moundsville; sister Pamela Doyle Brown of Moundsville; Several nieces,nephews
and friends.

Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Reverend Homer Franklin Butler, 73, of Proctor, WV, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the
Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg WV.

    Homer was born January 06, 1936 in Summersville, WV a son of the late John Frank and Martha Adeline
Taylor Butler. He was of the Apostolic faith, retired coal miner, a Blue Grass Musician and was a veteran of the
U.S Army, having served his country during the Korean War.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jay, George, Nelson and Ed Butler; two
sisters, Delphia Taylor and Mary Lewis.

    He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Burton Butler of Proctor, WV; three daughters, Virginia (John) Baker of
Craigsville, WV, Debra (Donald) Henline of Craigsville, WV and Lisa (Johnny) Elson  of Proctor, WV.; one son,
Roy (Renee) Butler of  Proctor, WV; a sister, Daisy Moore of Summersville, WV; two brothers, Tommy (Bunt)
Butler of Cleveland, OH. and Jerry (Patty) Butler of Gilboa, WV; Moriah Elson, Josh Streight, Tanner Butler,
Savannah Moore, and Michael Moore, eight other grandchildren and, thirteen great grandchildren.

    Visitation will be held Monday January 19, from 11 a.m. to the time of service, 1 p.m. at the Cornerstone
Church of God, Moundsville, with Reverend Marvin Cline and Pastor Ronald Wilfong officiating.
Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville. The Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard will conduct
military graveside honors.

Elizabeth Lee Barger McGinley passed away, in her sleep, on January 19, 2009 due to incidents of
age. Until recently she resided at the Elmhurst House of Friendship in Wheeling, then resided with nursing care in
She was born to Frank and Marie Cotton in Glen Dale, WVA on September 3, 1921.

She graduated in 1939 from Moundsville High School and went on to attend college at West Virginia Wesleyan.

Betty married her true love, Robert Barger, in 1941 and enjoyed 52 years of companionship before his death in
1993. She remarried a long time friend, Andy McGinley, in 2002 and lived with him until his death in 2006.  

Betty resided in Glen Dale until 1952 when she and Bob moved to the New York area where for many years she
taught piano and speech arts to those with sight and/or hearing impairments.

Betty is survived by two brothers, David Cotton of Sewickley Pa. and Robert Cotton of Glendale.  She and Bob
Barger had two sons and daughters-in-law. Robert Vincent Barger and his wife Janick of Sandy Utah and Geoffrey
Hamilton Barger and his wife Nancy of Cambridge Md.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven
great grandchildren.

She was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a very devoted wife to Robert.  
Betty, at various times in her life, was a talented actress, pianist and bridge player. She was a voracious reader of
literature, plays and non-fiction works and, until the last years of her life, was an enthusiast for the Sunday, NY
Times crossword puzzle.  

Betty touched the lives of her family and all who knew her. She will be truly missed by all.

A memorial service will be held in Moundsville, WV at a date to be determined.
