Robert James Ott, 58 of McMechen, WV, died Friday, January 13, 2012.

He was born on September 2, 1953 in Glen Dale, WV.   He was the son of the late Robert Ott and Barbara
(Booth) Ott of Moundsville, WV.  

He was a lead singer/guitarist in the bands 42nd Street & ZFX, opening for Steppenwolf & The Guess Who.

He was employed by Rohrig Sanitation and Allied Waste for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife,  Cathy Thoms-Ott and his step-daughter, Jamie Thoms; four sisters, Sue (Stew)
White, Cindy (Larry) Green, Judy (Doug) Lane and Chrissy (Frank) Murphy; his brother, Dave (Janice) Ott;
sister-in-law, Terry (Larry) Defibaugh; and brother-in-law, Bill Shuttlesworth.

Family will receive friends at the American Legion Hall, 412 Water Street, Benwood, WV from 2:00 pm until 5:00
pm on Saturday, January 21, 2012.

Allen “Whitey” Guthrie 95, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Sunday, January 15th, 2012 at Reynolds
Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.

He was born September 24, 1916 in Marion County, WV, the son of the late Bert and Alice Dunham Guthrie.

Whitey  was a retired employee of Solvay Chemical company and a U.S Air Force veteran who served during
the Second World War.

In addition to his parents, Whitey was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mabel Mae Guthrie; step-
daughter, Alice Jean Tippner Simmons and was the sole surviving sibling.

He is survived by  son-in-law, Colin Simmons of Moundsville; three grandchildren, Tina (John) Marking of
Moundsville, Jim (Shannon) Simmons of Virginia Beach, VA and  Cheryl (Eric) Richardson of Gates, NC.; great
grandchildren, Kara (Matt) Farrell, Justin Marking, Douglas, Deidre and Daniel Simmons; two great great-
grandchildren, Hunter and Kalina.

Per Whitey’s request there will no visitation held at this time. Services will be held at the convenience of the
family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Whitey’s name to the charity of your choice.

Tschappat, Mary E., 96, of McMechen, passed away Friday  January 20th, 2012 at home. She was born
April 27, 1915 in Wheeling, WV..The daughter of the late Jack and Stella Allen Reilly. Mary was a member of
ST. James Catholic Church of McMechen where she served on the Alter Society, former member of the
Womens Auxillary and was a former employee of Wheeling Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, making clothes and
spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Tschappat in 1987; son,
Thomas Tschappat; three brothers, George, Robert and John "Bill" Reilly and a sister Elnora "Sis" Sabo.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Danahey of McMechen; son, Robert E. (Anna Marie) Tschappat
Sr. of Roberts Ridge, WV.; and 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen,  Saturday, February 4th at 12 pm with
Father Bekeh Utietiang , celebrant.   

In lieu of flowers  memorial contributions can be made to Wheeling Catholic Charities at 125 8th Street,
Wheeling, WV 26003 or Amedisys Hospice at  1251 Warwood Avenue, Suite A, Wheeling, WV 26003.

Leverna L. "Sue" Minton 82, of Moundsville, passed away Friday January 27,2012 at Ruby Memorial
Hospital Morgantown WV. She was born on June 13, 1929 in Marshall County a daughter of the late John Allen
and Agnes Doty. She was a Christian by faith and a past worker for the U.S. Stamping Company in Moundsville
where she held many jobs in production. Sue dearly loved her family and worked a daycare just for the loving
experience with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Donna Jean Allen and one younger brother.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Dankmer and one son, David Utter(Patty) both of Moundsville. Three
brothers, Johnny(Wanda) Allen of Moundsville; Luther(Karen) Allen of New Martinsville; Gary(Ester) Allen of
Cameron; Three sisters, Beverly(Mickey) Poling ; Eileen Whitlatch  and Pat Holmes all of Moundsville; Four
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be sadly
missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at CARE Funeral & Cremation Service 1500 Second Street Moundsville on Sunday
January 29, 2012 from 1PM to 5PM. Funeral Services for Sue will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at
1pm with visitation prior to services starting at 11A.M. Entombment to follow services at Halcyon Hills Memorial
Gardens, Sherrard WV.
