Anna Yost, 99, of McMechen, WV died Monday, September 5, 2011.
She was born on July 13, 1912, the daughter of the late Joseph Marchani and Olga Monroe.
She was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church.
During her years of employment, she was employed in the production of Minuteman Missiles by RCA in
Cambridge for 8 years, a photographer at WTRF for 2 years, a seamstress at Buckheimer’s Leather and
Tannery for 5 years, and was a bartender and waitress at Orchid Inn, 22nd St., McMechen, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Kirker; a brother, Joseph Marchani;
and a daughter, Betty DeLoretta.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy A. Yost and son, Russell E. (Mary) Yost both of McMechen, WV; her
son-in-law, Angelo DeLoretta of Cincinnati, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-
great- grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Louise P. Thomas, 85 of Glen Dale, WV passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011,
surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 11,1926, the daughter of the late Oscar A. Johnson and Pearl Alice Postlethwait.
Louise was a longtime member of United Methodist Church in Glen Dale, WV. She was employed by Marx
Toy Co. for nine years and was a devoted homemaker for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Loyd Thomas;
also two sisters, Betty Rosen and Clara Hammond.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Ted) Guzek and Susan (Don) Hill of Glen Dale, WV; one sister,
Eleanor "Norie" (Ted) Majeski of Glen Dale WV; one brother, Hobert Johnson of Glen Dale, WV; one
brother in law, George Rosen of Michigan; six grandchildren, Shelly (John) Och of Glen Dale WV; Charlie
(Joan) Guzek of Ashburn Va; Russ Guzek of Independence WV, Sally (Eric) Heberle of Pickerington OH;
Missi (Clark) Patterson of Bondurant, Iowa and Guy Hill (Connie Kropka) of Jacobsburg, OH; 16 great
grandchildren, Luke, Derek and Jade Och; Jake and Kayleigh Guzek; Allie, Abbey and Audrey Guzek; Lexie,
granddaughter, McKinley Wells; and a dear friend, Sue Williams of Glen Dale, WV. Louise so loved her
dog, Julie and her cat, Tiger and the family would like to give a special thanks to Lissa, Yong, and Annie for
their compassionate care and concern as well.
Visitation for Louise will be held at CARE Funeral and Cremation Service, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville
on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 2PM till 8PM.
Funeral Services will be held at the CARE Chapel on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 10AM with the Rev.
John Morrison of the Glen Dale United Methodist Church officiating, committal services to immediately follow
at Thomas Cemetery in Ned, Pa. A luncheon in honor of Louise will be held at The Glen Dale United
Methodist Church at 3PM following the funeral services on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to the Marshall County Animal Shelter at 37 Animal Shelter Drive, Moundsville, WV 26041.

Wilma B. Reed 82,of Moundsville and native of Buckhannon WV., passed away peacefully on Saturday,
September 24,2011, at the Forest Hill Retirement Community St. Clairsville, OH.
She was born in Swamp Run, WV. on January 8,1929 the daughter of the late Silas Bennett and Nora
Gregory Bennett. Wilma was a longtime member of the Mission Church in Buckhannon WV., and a loving
and devoted homemaker for her family. She was a member of the VFW ladies auxiliary in Buckhannon as
well as the Buckhannon Senior Citizens and the Marshall County Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Rex Reed; one son, Frank Reed;and two
brothers, Kessel Bennett and Russell Bennett.
Wilma is survived by one daughter, Linda M. Davidson of Moundsville; Three brothers, James Bennett
(Joanne) ; Wayne Bennett (Gay) and Brian Bennett(Karen) all of Buckhannon, WV. Two granddaughters,
Laura Conaway of Moundsville WV. and Tonya Main (L.T.) of Wellsburg, WV. One Great grandson,
Remington Conaway of Moundsville WV., several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be recieved at CARE Funeral and Cremation Service 1500 Second Street, Moundsville on
Tuesday, September 27,2011 from 2PM to 7PM.
Funeral Services for Wilma will be held in Buckhannon WV. with the Poling - St. Clair Funeral Home,
committal services to follow in Heavener Cemetery in Buckhannon WV., and final details for the funeral
services are not yet complete at this time.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in loving memory of Wilma to the Marshall
County Senior Center 805 Fifth Street Moundsville. WV. 26041.

Smithberger, Mary Margaret (Heiss) 83 of Moundsville, WV passed away on Sunday, September 25,
2011 at Dixon's Health Care in Wintersville, Ohio.
She was born August 28, 1928 in Marietta, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Helen
(Schilling) Schwendeman. Mary was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed
being a stay home mother and housewife.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Bernard Joseph
Smithberger; son, Alan Heiss; step-son, Joseph Smithberger; step-daughter, Alma Jean Smithberger and
brother, David Schwendeman.
She is survived by two sons, Don Heiss of Steubenville, Ohio and Michael (Amy) Heiss of Toronto, Ohio; a
daughter, Beth (Phil) Kendzierski of Moundsville, WV; three brothers, Larry (Joyce) Schwendeman of Vincent,
Ohio, Bob (Jeannett) Schwendeman of Waterford, Ohio and Jim Schwendeman of Columbus, Ohio; two
sisters, Alice (Herman) Huck of Waterford, Ohio and Martha (Virgil) Huck also of Waterford, Ohio; and several
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 4pm to 7pm at CARE Chapel, 1500 Second St,
Moundsville, WV with a Vigil Service starting at 6:30pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11am at St. Jude Catholic
Church in Glen Dale, WV with Father Terrance Adams as celebrant. Interment will follow at Halcyon Hills
Memorial Gardens in Sherrard, WV.

Pinkerton, Shirley A. Evans, 76 of Shadyside, Ohio passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at Liza’s
Hospice Care Center in Wheeling, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alma Evans, and brother, Jimmy Evans.
Surviving are her husband, Paul of Shadyside, Ohio; her sister, Betty Evans Gerdau of Cambridge, Ohio;
brother-in-law, Tom Pinkerton of Wheeling, WV and her six children, Gina (George) Miller of Bellaire, Ohio,
Chris (Russ) Taylor of Chambersburg, PA, Richard Dixon of Ormond Beach, Fla., Robert (Jacki) Dixon of
Airway Heights, Wash., Debbie (Juan) Ruiz of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Linda (Richard) Rouse of Newington,
Ct; 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
