PALMER, Carl Edward, 91, of Moundsville, WV passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at his residence.

He was born April 13, 1921 in Wetzel County, WV, son of the late William and Bertha West Palmer.

Carl was a retired employee of Wheeling Steel, Benwood. He was a member of Cornerstone Church of God and loved spending his time hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Kelly Palmer; daughter, Elizabeth Simmons; and grandson, Ricky Simmons; 7 sisters, Ada Pettit, Mildred West, Mary Lambert,  Blanche Hartley, Audrey Palmer, Opal Palmer and Louise Palmer; 3 brothers, Lawrence Palmer, Wilbur Palmer and Ralph Palmer.

He is survived his wife, Margie Brown Palmer of Moundsville; three children, Gary (Beverly) Palmer of Moundsville, Donna (Jerry) Yoho of Glen Easton, WV and Mary Jo Longwell of Orange Park, FL; three step-sons, David (Jackie) Miller, Stanley Miller both of Moundsville and Randy Miller of Richmond, VA; sister, Margaret (Bruce) Richmond of St. Petersburg, FL; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, October 9, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at CARE Funeral & Cremation Service, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Wilfong officiating.

Interment will follow at Palmer Cemetery, Proctor, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Church of God, 202 South Highland, Avenue, Moundsville, WV 26041 or to Valley Hospice at 308 Mt. St. Joseph Road, Wheeling, WV 26003.
