Mary Louise Gorby, 82, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at home, with her loving family, Michael and Pamela, by her side.
She was born March 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Wilford and Icie (Colvin) Smith.
Mary attended the Antioch Christian Church for many years. She was a member of American Legion Post 3 Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 437 Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles Arie Post 499 Ladies Auxiliary and the Senior Center. Mary loved to travel on bus tours with her husband over the years.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence Gorby (2015); one son, Rick Gorby; three brothers, Charles âBudã, Bernard and Howard Hawkey and three sisters, Helen and Dolores Hawkey and Hilda Wissinger.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael Gorby and his girlfriend, Pamela Kutcher, and Dennis (Genie) Gorby; one daughter, Shirley Burge; one brother, Tom Smith; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Over the years, Mary was a foster mother and remained close to two, Eddie Stock and Melinda Popish.
The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their care and support.
