James R. “Rick” Ross, 70, of Rogers, OH, formerly of Wellsville, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at his home.

Rick was born in East Liverpool on February 17, 1951, the son of the late Richard R. and Anne (Bologna) Ross.  A Wellsville graduate of the class of 1969, Rick lived in the area the majority of his life.  He was a retired carpenter who could be found, in his later years, serving breakfast and good conversation at Tonda’s Place in Wellsville.

An avid sports enthusiast, Rick enjoyed coaching and watching his sons and was already looking forward to doing the same with his grandchildren.

Rick is survived by: his loving wife, Tonda Mosholder Ross, whom he married on October 4, 1980; his two sons: Vincent Ross and his wife, Maxine, and Anthony Ross, and his wife, Megan.  He is also survived by his five grandchildren who were truly the loves of his life: Emma, Leo, Max, Henry, and Mason Ross; his two beloved sisters: Paula (Bernie) Krawiec, and Susan (Tom) Koontz.  He also leaves behind his wife’s family, who he loved as his own: Carla (George) Lavrusky, Rhonda (Burrell) Reeder, and Tom Mosholder, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Carole Lane, and his faithful companion, Pepper.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 2PM-6PM at 533 Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, OH
