CUICHTA, Chester B., 77, of Glen Dale, W.Va. died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 22, 1939 in Benwood, W.Va., a son of the late Walter E. and Mary (Ronevich) Cuichta. He was Protestant by faith and a retired coal miner from Shoemaker Mine. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1087 in Moundsville, The Moundsville Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 499, where he was past president, and past president of Local UMWA #1473. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Huntington.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Chester Allan Cuichta, two brothers, Andy Cuichta and Irvin Cuichta, and two sisters, Jane Ebbert and MaryAnn Schultz.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Allen) Cuichta of Glen Dale; two sons, Kevin Lee (Jennifer) Cuichta of Moundsville, and David Lee (Ana) Cuichta of East Brunswick, N.J.; one brother, Walter Cuichta of Interlachen, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Rebecca, and Emily; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

At Chester’s request, there will be no visitation. Interment with military honors will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
