Susanna was born in Wheeling on Oct. 18, 1930, to the late John and Angela (Filip) Henning.

She married Joseph Kirchner and settled in Summit, NJ. Upon Joe’s death, she longed to return to her roots in Wheeling, so she moved home with her 6 children. She was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

During the 40’s and 50’s, she worked with Joe Weithe at Center Wheeling Market, and G.C. Murphy. Later, she enjoyed helping at her brother’s store, Don’s Corner Market in Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, her husband Joseph preceded her in death; siblings Roger and Yvonne, and great-grandson Tyler.

She is survived by her children; John (Mary) Kirchner, Moundsville; Bruce Kirchner, Wheeling; Bryan (Lupe) Fayetteville, OH; Michelle (Jay) Montesano, Moundsville; Tim (Lisa) Kirchner, Dillonvale, OH and Dr. Loren (Mabel) Kirchner, Wooster, OH; siblings, Eleanor Poland, Donald (Roberta) Henning, Kathleen Whitehouse, Roxanne (Frank) Geleski, Joyce Henning, Richard (Joyce) Henning, 11 grandchildren, Lorrie (Matthew) Downs, Steve Kirchner, Julie (Noah) Rivera, Angela (Jeff) Morwatuage, John Montesano, Ian (Kaitlin) Kirchner, Ethan Kirchner, Erin (Drew) Goodspeed, Evan Kirchner, Jill Herncane, Cindy (Mark) Pollman; 11 great-grandchildren, Anna Downs, Josh Downs, Maddie Kirchner, Joe Kirchner, Louise Morwatuage, Lucille Morwatuage, Scarlett Kirchner, Josh (Lindsey) Herncane, Mikaela Herncane, Tyler Pollman, Logan Pollman; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Nell Herncane; a brother and sister-in-law; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

"Nana" and I first met in 2010. We would chat about the old neighborhood and families that we both knew. She was a very classy lady and very kind to me. I will remember especially the breakfasts Bruce and I shared with her at the house after Sunday service at St Al's Church. Thoughts and prayers for all who loved her.
