Barbara Jo Benyo, 65, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, in Park Health Center, St. Clairsville, OH.

Barbara was born April 18, 1953 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Steve and Sophie (Wolan) Benyo.  She was a retired Air Force veteran, after 30 years of service.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Benyo; and sister, Jean Wyatt.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Virginia “Ginger” Burek of Wheeling; brother, Steve Benyo, Sr. of Wheeling; friend, Beth Powell of Wheeling; numerous nieces and nephews; and her furry companion, Bella.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2019, at the CARE Funeral Home, 3828 Jacob Street, Wheeling, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, March 15, 2019 with Chaplain Joy Wright officiating.  Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, with full military honors provided by the Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to local animal shelter of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.carechapel.com
