RYCERZ, Elizabeth “Betty” Jane, 93, of Wheeling, WV died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born July 13, 1926, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Michael and Alma (Eisenhauer) Kryah. She was a current member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Wheeling and a former member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in South Wheeling. She retired from Bloch Brothers Tobacco in South Wheeling and was an avid WVU Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, who she married to the day 70 years ago, Leonard M. “Big Nuke” Rycerz, one granddaughter, Megan Lee Rycerz, one sister, Mary Drosieko, and one brother, John Kryah.

She is survived by five children, Leonard Rycerz Jr. (Karen) of Warwood, WV, Sandra Blackwell (Jack) of Wheeling, Nina Clemons (Bob) of Wheeling, Felecia “Bowie” Kettlewell (Keith) of South Wheeling and Nicky Ryan (Tom) of South Wheeling; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 26, 2020 from 3-6 pm at the CARE Funeral Home, 3828 Jacob Street, Wheeling. Visitors are asked to please wear masks to visitation and social distance at the funeral home. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Family Services of the Upper Ohio Valley, 2200 Main Street, 1st Floor, Wheeling, WV 26003.
