Gerald N. Donley, 72, of St. Clairsville, OH died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Cumberland Pointe Nursing Home, St. Clairsville. He was born February 5, 1947 in St. Clairsville, a son of the late Ebbert and Blanche Jobes Donley.
Gerald was a roof bolter of the former Saginaw Mine, a member of Maynard Methodist Church, VFW Post 5356, American Legion Post 159 and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Heath Donley in June, 2019; sons, Robert and Ricky Coe; three brothers, Robert, George and Willis Donley; a sister, Virginia Hill.
Surviving are his children, Diana Dillon of Belmont, OH., Sherrie Funkhouser, Leroy (Ruth) Coe and Timothy (Julie) Coe all of St. Clairsville; a grandson, Brandon whom he raised; 19 grandchildren, Mike Funkhouser, Barbara Funkhouser, Rick Dillon, Katie Dillon-Luli, Opal Coe, Joe Coe, Eugene Funkhouser, Brandi Turner, Brian Coe, Brandon (Samantha) Coe, Jenny Mahoney, Michelle Mahoney, Ricky Coe, Brian Coe, Randall Coe, Allie Coe, Lance Corbett, Erica Evans and Zachary Coe; several great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialist 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville, OH 43950 with funeral services on Thursday at 11 am with Pastor Al Hoder officiating. Full Military Honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association. Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery.
