James D. McClelland, 87 of Wellsville passed away at Trinity West in Steubenville, OH on Thursday, September 10, 2015 following a brief illness.

He was born in Kittanning, PA on October 10, 1927 a son to the late Clarence McClelland and Rhoda (Smith) Porterfield. James lived in this area since 1989 working as a roller for Allegheny Ludlum. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII, a member of the Moose Lodge 127 of Kittanning, PA, American Legion Post 0114, 32nd Mason of the Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, a Royal Arch Mason Chapter 100, Pilgrim Commandary #55 of East Liverpool, OH, Royal & Select Mason for the Keramos Council #95 and was also a mason for Wellsville Lodge #180. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers #130 and was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Leechburg, PA.

He is survived by his wife Doris (Gradwell) McClelland whom he married February 15, 1947; a half brother: Fred Porterfield of Irwin, PA and many, many friends.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 6 PM with Rev. Larry Hukill of the First United Methodist Church in East Liverpool officiating. Masonic Services will be held at 5:30 PM at the funeral home.

Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta funeral home from 3:30 up until the time of the service.

Burial will take place in Greenwood Memorial Park in New Kensington, PA on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 where Rev. Jerrad R. Peterman of the Leechburg United Methodist Church will perform graveside services at 1 PM for Mr. McClelland.
