James Gikas, 63, of Wheeling, WV passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Wheeling Hospital.
Jim was born on March 1st, 1957 in Wheeling, a son of Cathy (Habak) and the late John Gikas. He was a United States Navy and Army Reserves Veteran. Following the military, he was a substitute teacher for the local school systems.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother Grant Gikas.
Jim is survived by his mother Cathy Gikas of Wheeling, and two sisters Lexie (Doug) Marlin of Triadelphia, and Elane (Marty) Haynes of Wheeling.
Per James’s wishes, there will be no viewing.

    I remember Jim from 30 years ago. He could really battle over the chess board and definitely a good sport about it win or lose. One of the good guys.
