TOGETHER AGAIN
James A. “Jim” O’Rourke, 85 of East Liverpool, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Calcutta Health Care.
Mr. O’Rourke was born in Wellsville, Ohio on April 15, 1934 a son to the late John B. and Ruby J. (Allen) O’Rourke. Living his life in this area, he was a 1952 graduate of Wellsville High School, a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War and worked as a Grinder for the former Crucible Steel. Jim also worked as a security guard for the Homer Laughlin China Company for 19 years, retiring in 2014, was a member of the VFW Post #374, the American Legion Post #66, attended the Grace Presbyterian church where he served as an Elder and Trustee.
He is survived by a daughter: Peggy Shoaff (Jim Lewis) of New Springfield; a granddaughter: Megan (Tom) Beagle of East Liverpool; five great grandchildren: Tyler Fisher (Hannah Haustman), Philip Beagle, Shayne Smith, Randi Beagle and Perry (Jackie) Beagle and seven great great grandchildren: Sylis, Seliece, Annie, David, Caroline, John and Josephine.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death on November 17, 2019 by his wife Leah Rae (McAdoo) O’Rourke whom he married July 25, 1955 and a brother: Jack O’Rourke.
Services will be held at the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes in Calcutta on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 4 PM with Tom Gualtier officiating, where the Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors. Burial will take place in Calcutta Cemetery.
Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 2 PM up until the time of the service at 4 PM.
