Linda G. “Kookie” Karcher, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA on Thursday, December 10, 2015 following a lengthy illness.

She was born in East Liverpool, OH on December 2, 1947 a daughter to the late James & Hallie (Fleming) Welch. Kookie has lived her entire life in this area working in the deli at Giant Eagle before retiring.  She was a former member of the First Church of Christ in Newell, WV where she was a member in her church group the Lady Bees.  She was an avid baker and a Pirates fan.

She is survived by her Husband: Gene Raymond Karcher whom she married on June 22, 1968; a devoted daughter: Donna Karcher of East Liverpool, OH; one sister:  Janice Welch of Melbourne, FL; many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, including 2 Great Nieces and 1 Great Nephew Makenzie, Mollie and Mason who she cherished and held close to her heart, one great great niece, and many cousins

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11 AM with Pastor Kenny Cowdery of Avondale Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta funeral home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 12 to 2 and 4 to 6 P.M.
