Patricia Ann (Thrasher) Edge, 61, of Benwood, WV, left her courageous battle with cancer behind and was welcomed by family into heaven on June 2, 2022.
She was born July 6, 1960, the daughter of Raymond Drewett Sr. and the late Patricia Lou (Thrasher) Drewett.
Patti was a born caregiver. She was an amazing mother to her two children, being their biggest supporter. Even into adulthood, she remained their comfort, their best friend, and the person they went to for advice. She would welcome their friends into her home with constantly open arms and was lovingly referred to as “Mom #2” and “Mrs. Edge”.
It wasn’t just people Patti cared for though. She was an avid protector of animals, going out of her way to provide for strays or fur babies in need. And they loved her as much as her human babies did.
But her heart was most prominently into being a grandmother. She was easily the best Grammy/”Gee” there was, never tiring when it came time to play or have slumber parties or swim. She also always had cookies! She loved her grandchildren more than words and will make thema fierce guardian angel.
Patti was a wonderful partner, friend, co-worker, daughter, sister, “Mama”, and Grammy/”Gee”. She brought light into everything she did and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia (Thrasher) Drewett.
She is survived by her partner, John Yaquinta; daughter Erica Edge (Matt); son, Teik Edge (Kayla); father, Raymond Drewett Sr.; brothers, Raymond Drewett Jr., Ira Drewett (Lori), and Aaron Drewett; sister, Hazel Virtue (Bruce); grandchildren, Amy Yahn, Allison Yahn, Alex Yahn, Enzley Edge, Trevor Tottka, and Leia Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Patti didn’t want a fuss over her so there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to your local animal rescue organization.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
