Patricia L Linger

Patricia Lynn Linger, 71, of Salem, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center.  

Patty was born in Salem, OH on June 11, 1949, the daughter of the late Rev Albert and Beulah (Brooks) Hampson.  She attended school in East Liverpool and graduated with the Class of 1967.  Patty married Reverend Joseph Linger on December 11, 1969 and spent much of her early life traveling with her military husband.  They spent several years living in Germany.

Patty was employed with Visiting Angels and found much joy in helping others.  She also loved spending time in church surrounded by her church family.  She enjoyed her time traveling with Joe and loved taking weekend trips to Richmond, VA or visiting family in Knoxville, TN.  Patty also had a kindness for animals and will be missed by her loving pets.

Survivors include: her husband Reverend Joseph Linger, whom she married on December 11, 1969; her adopted son, Anthony (Tabitha Layton) Carr; grandchildren Adalynn and Troy Carr; one brother, Rev. Keith (Kelly) Hampson; nephews: Keith, Michael, Daniel and Haiden Hampson; nieces: Rachel, Hannah, and Tabby; and great nieces: Kinleigh and Bailey Hampson.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 10AM-11AM at CARE Funeral & Cremation Specialist -Martin Chapel (the former Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home) in Calcutta,  with a private funeral following at 11AM with Rev. Francis Burkhart from Tri-County Church of God in Salem, OH officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
