Walter Fletcher Wood, 60 of Moundsville, WV passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at his residence.

He was born November 21, 1954 in Marshall County, the son of the late Harley Edward and Mary Streight Wood.

Walter was a Methodist by faith who enjoyed fishing in his spare time and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his son, Walter “Jr” Wood; four brothers, Harley Russel, Harry Samuel, Marcus Carl Dwight “CD” and David Terry Wood and three sisters, Leona Belle, Jessie Luticia Wood and Doris Beulah Wood.

Surviving are his wife, of 38 years, Connie (Whitt) Wood of Moundsville; daughter, Angie (Bill) Riggle of Moundsville; sister, Mary Jane (James) Tucker of Moundsville; seven brothers, Vernon Joseph (Jenny) Wood, Charles Myrl (Sue) Wood, William (Eige) Wood, James Edward (Donna) Wood, Loren  Bruce Wood, John Reed Wood and Jerry “Jay” (Dorothy) Wood all of Marshall County; two grandchildren, Brittany wood of Bellaire, OH and Corbin Dallis Riggle of Moundsville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received Friday, January 9, 2015 from 11am until the time of service at 1pm at Care Funeral & Cremation Service, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville.

A luncheon will be held at the Golden Towers, 501 10th Street, Moundsville, following the service, bring a covered dish if you wish to.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Walter F. Wood.
