William J. “Bill” Humphrey of Lisbon, OH passed away on January 2, 2021 at his home, following a lengthy illness.  Bill was born in Wellsville on September 14, 1938, the son of the late Harry Lee Humphrey and Lillian Wright Humphrey Jackson.

Bill graduated from East Liverpool High School with the Class of 1957.  After graduation Bill served in the United States Army.  After his discharge he  worked as an assembler at General Motors, Lordstown Plant, for 30 years.    He was able to retire in 1996.  Bill married Lois A. McCall on June 6, 1959.  From their union, three children were born.  Bill and Lois were members of the Beaver Street Church of Christ in Lisbon for many years.  Bill loved keeping in touch with friends and family through Facebook and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left behind to cherish his memory are: his three children: Timothy W Humphrey, of Lisbon, Kim Sprouse, and her husband, Randy, of Lisbon, and Lynn M. Humphrey (Robert Cunningham), also of Lisbon; three grandchildren: Michael J. (Jaime) Sprouse, Lisbon, Heather M. (Aaron) Mason, Lisbon, and Sarah M. (Angie) Saunders, Youngstown; and two great-grandchildren: Hannah M. Sprouse and Cooper A. Mason.

Bill was preceded in death by: his wife, Lois, who passed away on February 18, 2013; three brothers: Harry Humphrey, Clifford Humphrey, and Raymond Humphrey; and one sister, Alberta Haney Mack.

Visitation will be held from 3PM-5:30PM  on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialist- Martin Chapel (formerly Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home) in Calcutta.  A private family service will be held at 6PM where Bill will be afforded full military honors.

In compliance with Ohio state regulation and in connection to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing will be mandatory.
