William Lynn Ewing, 78, of Pine Hill, Wheeling WV, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Wheeling Hospital.

William was born May 26, 1943 in Moundsville, a son of the late William Benton and Lucille (Murphy) Ewing. Bill graduated from Sherrard High School in 1961. He was an Army Veteran who served in Germany, a retired AEP welder and a 4-H counselor and leader. William loved hunting and going to the beach with his family and friends.

Bill is survived and greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Alice (Stead) Ewing; daughter of his heart and Sunshine of his life Carrie Ann Shipman and husband David who is loved as well; Grandchildren, Morgan McCort ( Zach Morris) Caleb “Big Man” Morris and Laura Shipman; and many nieces and nephews including David Hanson (Cristina Hanson and children), Chris, Carrie, Craig and Chad Young, who were his Godchildren.

Friends will be received at CARE Funeral Home, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville, WV, Monday, May 16, from 5-8 pm, and Tuesday, May 17, from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm, with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating. Interment will follow in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Moundsville Honor Guard, Helping Heroes, and Healing Waters Wheeling. Online condolences may be offered to the family at carechapel.com.
