DAVE, AS I SAT AT YOUR SERVICE ON MONDAY, I SMILED, I CRIED AND I FELT SO VERY BLESSED TO HAVE HAD YOU IN MY LIFE. YOU MEANT SO MUCH TO SO MANY PEOPLE AND THAT WAS REFLECTED IN THEIR COMMENTS OF YOU. WHNE THEY ASKED IF ANYONE WANTED TO SHARE A MEMORY, A TON OF MEMORIES CAME FLOODING IN MY MIND, BUT I DOUBT I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE OWRDS OUT WITHOUT BEING A BAWLING IDIOT AND I COULD JUST HEARING YOU SAYING..."STRAIGHTEN UP PAM!" LOL SO, I AM POSTING MY MEMORIES HERE NOW. FIRST OF ALL "THANK YOU" FOR ALWAYS BEING SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART OF MY LIFE FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER. YOU GAVE ME MY FIRST MOTORCYLCE RIDE(AND MY LAST) I REMEMBER BEING TERRIFIED AND HOLDING ON SO TIGHT.YOU KEPT TELLING ME TO LEAN WITH THE BIKE AROUND THE CURVES ON SHADYSIDE (YOUR KIDDING RIGHT?) I WAS SO AFRAID WE WOULD TIP OVER BUT YOU ASSURED ME I WOULD BE OKK IF ID JUST CALM DOWN. LOL YOU WERE RIGHT, AS ALWAYS. I REMEMBER WANTING TO PLAY FOOTBALL IN THE SIDE YARD WITH YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS, AND I THOUGHT THAT MEANT JUST CATCHING THE BALL WHEN YOU THREW IT TO ME BUT NO, NEXT THING I KNEW I WAS LAYING IN A BIG MUDDY CRYING BECAUSE YOU TACKLED ME. YOU SAID "IF YOU ARE GOING TO PLAY FOOTBALL WITH THE BOYS YOU HAVE TO PLAY LIKE THE BOYS". I WAS SOOOOO MAD AT YOU AND REFUSED TO SPEAK TO YOU THE REST OF THE DAY!!! I REMEMBER GETTING MY DRIVERS PERMIT AT GE 16 AND YOU WERE THE FIRST ONE WHO TRUSTED ME TO DRIVE THEIR CAR. YOU AND I HAD GONE TO A FOOTBALL GAME, EAST LIVERPOOL VS NILES, AND ON THE WAY AT 11 O CLOCK AT NIGHT YOU PULLED OFF ON RTE 11 AND TOLD ME I COULD DRIVE. I WAS TERRIFIED BUT THERE WAS NO WAY I WAS GONNA LET YOU KNOW THAT! YOU WERE ALWAYS THERE THRU THE GOOD TIMES IN MY LIFE AND ALWAYS THERE WHEN I NEEDED A SHOULDER TO CRY ON. I REMEMBER THE NIGHT OF MY WEDDING REHEARSAL DINNER YOU PULLED ME ASIDE AND ASKED ME IF I WAS SURE I WANTED TO GO THRU WITH THIS( I WAS ONLY 18 AND YOU SAID I WASNT GROWN UP YET) HA HA I ASSURED YOU I WAS, YOU WERE ONE OF THE GROOMSMAN AND TOLD ME YOU WOULDNT WEAR A A TUX AND BLUE RUFFLED SHIRT FOR JUST ANYONE. 8 YEARS LATER WHEN UNFORTUNATELY THAT MARRIAGE ENDED IN DIVORCE YOU WERE THERE TO LET ME CRY ON YOUR SHOULDER AS I SAID "MAYBE YOU WERE RIGHT MAYBE I NEEDED TO GROW UP SOME MORE. AS I MET THE MAN OF MY DREAMS A FEW YEARS LATER AND MARRIED, YOU ASK ME ONCE AGAIN WAS I SURE? I ASSURED THIS TIME I WAS AND 30 YRS LATER I AM STILL SURE. YOU HAVE SHARED SO MANY WONDERFUL TIMES WITH LARRY AND I OVER THE YEARS. I WILL NEVER FORGET THE PICNICS AND THE JULY 4TH BASHES, AS WELL CALLED THEM AND I NEVER WILL FORGET MY LAST TIME SPENT WITH YOU 2 WEEKS BEFORE YOU PASSED. ALTHOUGH YOU HAD BEEN DRIFTING IN AND OUT OF SLEEP., YOU WERE AWAKE THAT DAY TO SEE MY GRANDSON J.J. WHO YOU CALLED "YOUR BOY" THANK YOU FOR LOVING HIM SO MUCH AS HE LOVED YOU AS WELL. BUT THAT DAY YOU BROKE OUT SINGING THE SONG "UNFORGETTABLE" YOU SANG ONE LINE AND I SANG THE REST.(AUNT BETTY THOUGHT WE WERE NUTS AS WE BOTH LAUGHED LIKE IDIOTS) BUT I WILL FOREVER CHERISH THAT DAY. YOUR PASSING HAS LEFT AN EMPTY SPACE IN MY LIFE AND A HUGE HOLE IN MY HEART BUT THE MEMORIES WILL GET ME THRU THE DAYS TO COME. YOUR WAY OF PATTING ME ON THE BACK WAS ALWAYS TELLING ME THAT I HAD A BIG CROWN (MEANING HOW I TOOK CARE OF J.J. AND EVERYONE WHO NEEDED ME) WELL THO MY HEART IS BREAKING I TAKE COMFORT IN THE FACT THAT YOU ARE WITH JESUS AND YOU HAVE THE BEST CROWN OF ALL!!!! WHEN I GET TIRED, OR SCARED OR THINK I CANT FIGHT ANYMORE, I WILL THINK OF YOU AND YOUR STRENGTH WILL CARRY ME THROUGH!

The first thing I can say is that to me this was the greatest man on the planet. It's hard to believe that I was the highlight of this mans life. I've always been his buddy from back when I was little till him saying shake my hand buddy in his last talking day. I told him I couldn't have been born with a better father and I believe that with all my heart. Speaking of my heart it couldn't compare to my dads. I grew up seeing people do him wrong to praising him and he loved the ones who did wrong just the same and would still help them anyway he could. Thinking of his life this much now only leaves me regretting not telling him that he was the highlight of my life as well cause there's never been no one better than my dad in my life. I hope I made you proud dad cause I sure am proud to have had you as my dad.

Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Thank You Dave for showing me what Love is.
