Ruth, My and Ute’s deepest condolences and sympathy to you and your family. Norm and I only lived two doors apart and were good friends. He stayed in ELO. and I went to the army. It was ready shock to hear about Norman. I guess the friends up on the hill are getting fewer. First it was Bill Wright then Mike McVay and now Norman Only two of us left Don McVay and me. We all served our Country well. I just wish that Norman had more time on this earth. Ruth if you need anything, let us know. Ute & Steve ROGER S. SMITH SSG, US Army Retired

Dear Ruth, Our prayers and deepest sympathy to you and your family in the loss of Norm. We will be out of town on Sunday and will not be able to come to the funeral. Will always remember the service he gave to East Liverpool. So blessed to be his friend and classmate.

Ruth, We were so sad & shocked at the terrible news. Norm sat next to us at the '68 reunion dinner. He & Danny Deshler joked & laughed & had a great time. We talked about you & Dawn. His service to the community & the respect they held for him should be a comforting memory for you. Our thoughts & prayers are with you.

Ruth and Dawn. I talked to Norm several months ago at the funeral home. A sad day for me but when I left he had put a smile on my face. Ah, that smile! RIP Norm.

Dawn, Ryan, and Family, We are very sorry for the loss of your Dad. Thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this tremendously difficult time. Dawn, I read your Dad's obituary and although I never met him, I am sure I would have liked him. I know you must be very proud of his many years in law enforcement. Norm was a graduate of our class (1968 ELHS,the best was last). Always a great guy, loved to laugh, protected our lives on the police force and a Veteran. At the all-school reunion I remember how he drove the golf cart and shared with his class at the parade. A veteran who was honored on the float Norm, one might say, was the complete package. May he fly high with God and all those he knew.He has served his country well and will be missed.
